Explicit Teaching of Vocabulary Online - KYRA Research School (CPD)
A three-part training session suitable for all Key Stages and the Early Years.
The session will involve:
- An in-depth look into the research behind the vocabulary ‘gap’
- Detailed approaches to explicitly teaching vocabulary
- How to use dual coding, retrieval and spaced practice to encode vocabulary in the long-term memory
- How to successfully implement the research across the whole school so the practice is adopted in every classroom and sustained, using research material from the EEF
All sessions will be run as online delivery, in three hour modules. There will be gap tasks set between the live content, to be completed asynchronously.
The first 20 places are fully funded by Leicestershire & Rutland TS Hub and are offered on a first come basis.
