Year 2 Maths Moderation (CPD)

Year 2 Maths Moderation delivered in partnership with Peter Sloan and Vanessa Brown. Free to members, non-members are £40 per person.

Session One Wednesday 2nd November 2022- The session aims to give participants a greater understanding of the Y2 curriculum for mathematics and consider the assessment statements for end of KS1 for expected standard (EXS).

We will explore your long term curriculum plan and consider possible modifications. There will be a particular focus on place value and number. We will discuss statutory key documentation as well as sharing good practice.

Participants will be expected to bring an exercise book from a child who is likely to be EXS by the end of the year.

Session Two Monday 9th January 2023 - The aim of this session is to explore the assessment statements for end of KS1 for working towards standard (WT).

There will be particular focus on multiplication and division.

Participants will be expected to bring an exercise book from a child who is likely to be WT by the end of the year.

Session Three Tuesday 28th February 2023- The aim of this session is to explore the assessment statements for end of KS1 for greater depth standard (GD). There will be a particular focus on fractions.

Participants will be expected to bring an exercise book from a child who is likely to be GD by the rend of the year.

Session Four Wednesday 3rd May 2023 - In this session, we will consider those trickier TAFs from the end of KS1 assessment and discuss how participants might gather last minute evidence.
